Hello- Many of you know me quite well and have ordered my gift baskets, as well as referred and supported me with my business. But today I would like to share some childhood Easter Traditions that we did every year growing up. There is something so wonderful about Easter, it brings up memories of wearing you’re new Easter outfit, the smell of spring in the air, and your very own Easter basket filled with goodies. Everyone has sweet memories of growing up of the traditional Easter Meal, church service and or collecting eggs. Here is my story: We would get up early and go to church service. My family and I would go home and do what we called an Easter Program, it’s sort of like on Thanksgiving when you recite what you are thankful for. We basically would decide how we were going to do this, it could be an Easter Speech or recite bible verses that we heard in the sermon. This put us in a spiritual mood all day, and lastly we ate a huge Easter dinner with all of the fixings. Later to top it off- 3 or 4 desserts! Another Easter tradition we had was to go egg hunting the day after Easter- don’t remember who started it or why but we became accustomed to it. So that is about it for me….how about you? Leave a comment at the bottom of the post and let us know what your Easter Traditions were growing up or if they have changed over the years? Starting your own Easter traditions Want to start you own traditions for Easter? Maybe you are grown up with a family of your own or want to branch off the old traditions that you had growing up. This could be tricky because we are so used to doing things year after year with family, but if you are serious than keep in mind what appeals to you the most.
You can make it a religious only holiday, perhaps an Easter brunch, or visit friends with an Easter basket, how about buying early spring flowers for the table afterward plant them in the ground to bloom the next year. There are many things you can do with the kids (which make it more fun).
